BIO
Archer Curtis is a 14 year old grom who's showing a natural surfing talent at a very young age.
Archer surfed his first wave when he was six. A family friend 'Daz', pushed him into a few and even taught him to 'pigdog'.
He lived in Brisbane, so opportunities were limited with regards to getting in the surf on a regular basis. His family finally moved and settled in Palm Beach on the Gold Coast at the age of nine.
He played soccer for a while, but soon retired due to his obsession with surfing. Archer worked hard on his surfing technique and kept working hard at school. He began entering surf contests and after a couple of years, in the 3rd year, surfed his way into 14 finals and won a few of them too. He finished 3rd at the Australian national titles that year.
He has been a team rider with Sideways from early on. "Deathless" surfboards design and shape his custom boards. He is a Rip Curl team rider as well as riding for FK and Liive. Archer is also lucky to be coached in the gym by Shane Dykstra at Urban Surf Fit, Currumbin. When he isn't surfing he likes to skate and play video games...mostly "fortnight". He loves fajitas for dinner and could eat lollies for Australia. Archer continues to work hard on his surfing. He attends Palm Beach Currumbin High School where participates in the Surfing Excellence, Academic Excellence and Art Excellence programs. His last major surfing contest was the RipCurl national final where he finished 2nd.
