Essential Tips for Stand Up Paddleboarding

Stand Up paddleboarding is an activity that people of all ages can participate in. Some people do it for fitness reasons, and for some it’s a serious sport. Many have taken it up as a social activity.

Regardless of your reason, it’s a great way to get out and enjoy the sunshine.

Here’s some of our essential tips for first timers:

  • Centre your feet in the middle of the board, using the handle as a point of reference to place your feet either side.
  • Keep a slight bend in your knees to keep your core centred.
  • Hold your paddle with one hand on the top and the other on the handle.
  • Immerse the blade of the palled into the water fully and take long strokes.

Stand up paddle boarding is fun for all the family especially in flat surf when learning... take the kids or take the dog for a tour. Take the touring SUP for a spin fishing.

Sideways stocks both touring SUPs (used for racing and high performance activities), all-round SUPs and paddles in all stores (please note that due to space we do not carry SUPS in our Noosa store), and they are also available for pick up from our Burleigh Heads warehouse.
