A staple and favourite across team an customers alike. The ball tearer is a edgy slice an dice style, small to mid size wave performance board built to maximise froth levels in everyday local Sth East QLD/North Coast NSW conditions.
Featuring a flared out swallow tail, slightly pulled in nose, and a wide point behind centre the ball tearer is whippy an agile up front with a free an flighty tail thats quick off the mark an skates across flat sections with ease but still has plenty of bite and a stabby savage like turning arc that just begs you to unleash some raw mongrel an tear steep walls apart.
Originally designed as a small wave utility board to build more of a ‘’I’m out there’’ attitude this model has since surpassed expectations in terms of wave size ability an is quite comfortable an at home in waves up to 6 feet.
A fun an exciting ride for all skill levels, ride roughly the same height as your height referring to volume chart for best fit.

I rode this board from 2 foot to 6 foot. This board is between a small wave board and a short board. I had the 3 fin option, would have loved a quad option. I found it went good with raked fins in bigger surf and with a 2 plus 1 trailer (MR fins) in all other surf. Once I tried the MR fins I was sold. The lift and speed were next level and it could hold on rail real nice. 6 Foot the board gets a bit too drivey and hectic but you can really push it hard in 5 foot and under. You get what you pay for regarding construction because glassing is lite and gives the board good flex and livliness. I like how the wide point is centre and not front from centre giving you a whippy feeling through turns. If these sold in New Zealand for this price they would be sold out, as I have to bring over when I holiday. Great design and price!!

I had my eye on this board a while back, but I had to wait a while for the stock to come through. I picked up the 6'0 at about 34L which is plenty of volume for me. (performance board is 33, fun board is 37). I wanted something that I could perform a little better on up to waist high waves. The wide tail stood out to me, as well as a medium to low rail, and some toe on the fins - all indicating a small wave board.
First few surfers it took a bit to figure out the fins. Initially I wasn't impressed, but then I tossed in a set of fins I hadn't used before (a large neutral template), and surfed a clean waist to chest high bank and the board came alive. Very quick and nimble.
Other boards in the sideways lineup I looked at were the Joistik Vector (which I also bought), the Flannagan Scary good, and the Rocket Rod.
I chose the Ball Tearer as the wide tail and low rail, but decent volume really ticked my boxes, and this is my go to board for everyday waves around 0.5 - 2 foot.
It does feel light, and does pressure ding easily, but that I guess is a trade off for small waver performance. 4 / 5 stars from me.
